Sarah was born in 1756 to Charles Sullivan and Permelia Davis. Though born and raised in Virginia, Sarah married at age 25 in South Carolina. After her husband's death in 1806, Sarah remarried in Kentucky three years later. She passed away in 1820 at 64 years old.

(Note on last name: Sullivant evolved to Sullivan around the middle of the 19th Century, so both spellings are found in documentation.)
