James was the son of Richard Goodman Sweeten and Aurelia Franklin.
At age 5, James Fletcher Sweeten was living with his mother, R. Sweeten, age 21, and brother Ed Sweeten, age 3, in Butler County, Alabama.[1]
His wife was Lola Denisha Morgan
In 1880, Fletcher Sweeten was in Sepulga, Conecuh, Alabama, at age 25; his wife Loly was age 24 b Alabama; stepson Henry Kannon was age 8; daughter Ophelia Sweeten was age 2.[2]
