João Sylva was born in Portugal.

João was born in 1800. He was the son of Jozé Sylva and Ursula Maria.[1] João was baptized in the Saint Joseph church by father João Soares.[1] His Godparents were Manoel dos Santos and his wife Josefa dos Anjos.[1] The witnesses were Manuel da Silva and António Pereira.[1]
