Biography

Maria Magdalena Tamez was born in Pharr, Texas on 22 July 1932 to Porfirio Tamez and Virginia Rojas.^[1] She married Raymond Perez on 19 March 1950 in Hidalgo County, Texas.^[2] Magdalena died in 1980.^[3] She is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Dimondale, Michigan.^[4]

Age 47, died April 13, 1980 after a long illness. Born July 29, 1932 in Texas. Surviving are her husband, Raymond G.; 3 daughters, Margaret Brammer of Lansing, Virginia Tyler of Charlotte, and Judy Rosolino of Algonac, MI; 2 sons, Raymond Jr. and Charles Randy both of Lansing; 6 grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Pauline Frazier of Texas, Elisa Ramirez of Texas and Oralia Izquierdo of Texas; 3 brothers, Jose M. Tamez of Texas, Isreal Tamez of Charlotte and Roy Tamez of Washington, D.C. She made her way to Charlotte from McAllen, Texas to visit her brother and stayed and later opened and operated the Tastee Freeze in Charlotte. Later they moved to Lansing to further invest in a car wash, gas station. There she lived until she took sick with cancer, then moved to lived with her daughter in Algonac. She died in the home of her daughter in Charlotte. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel with Rev. Reynold Powell of Good Pastor Church officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.^[5]
