Biography

Emma Teague was likely born on 3.11.1850 in South Australia, Australia to parents Thomas Trounson and Christina Teague (nee Jewell). The date of 1.10.1849 in Peachy Belt is often prescribed as a date of birth for Emma however there is no official registration of this. There is a registration for twin boys named Thomas and Henry being born to her parents at Reedy Creek on 1.10.1849, but not Emma.

Emma's sister Ellen (b 3.11.1850) also does not have a birth registration. It is possible that Emma and Ellen may have been twins also, both born in 1850, both not being registered. This is likely due to their father Thomas making trips to different mining locations, including California and Forest Creek during this period. It is also possible that Emma was a triplet with the two boys, however it is unusual that their births are registered and hers is not.

Marriage

Emma married Thomas Edward Hall on 20.9.1870 in Ebenezer Chapel, Angle Park, South Australia, Australia. The Hall family pf Peachy Belt owned a farm right next door to a section of her father's property. Witnesses to the marriage were Samuel Hall (Thomas' brother) and Elizabeth Bennett (a niece). After the marriage, they lived on Tom's father's farm at Penfield.
