(Tim's note - The Granville Grant mentioned was made to John McCulloch, located on Back Creek (the present McCrary Creek) just west of present Mooresville and just north of Mayhewtown. In "Carolina Cradle", Robert W. Ramsey shows the location of this tract in his map of "The Davidson's Creek Settlement 1752-62" and identifies it as "sold to Alexander Robertson, 1758. Sold by Robertson to John Thompson, 1759.")
