1846 Birth: Sarah was born on the 25 February 1846 at 53 English Street, Myton, Hull, East Yorkshire, England (a Grocery Shop). Her father was Thomas Thompson and her mother was Hannah (Mosley) Thompson. Thomas's profession is described as a bookkeeper. Sarah's birth was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1846 in the Kingston upon Hull district.[1]

Her father Thomas 52, is a Clerk at an Engine Works and born in Snaith. Her mother is a grocer, tea dealer and beer retailer. She has 2 older brothers and 3 older sisters. Her mother will have occupied 53 English Street where she ran a Grocery Shop.[2]

Her father is 62, a bookkeeper and was born in Airmyn near Goole. Her mother Hannah 58, born Swinefleet also near Goole, still runs the Grocery shop at 53 English Street. She is also living with her 3 old sisters, Hannah (widow), Mary and Jane who are classified as servants (probably working in the Grocery shop) and an older brother, John an Engine fitter. [3]

1922 Death of Son: Their son Walter James died in 1922 at the age of 48.
1927 Death of husband: Her husband Charles Clark James died on 23 September 1927, at 23 St Georges Street Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire, England aged 87 and 56 years of marriage.
1933 Death: Sarah died on the 26 January 1933, at 23 St Georges Street Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire, England aged 86, the widow of Charles Clark James, a Ship Chandler. She died of Broncho-pneumonia and senility, her daughter Ethel was in attendance when she died. This address is the home of her daughter Ethel (James) Hutchinson (1881-1953). [11]
1933 Burial: Sarah was buried on the 28 January 1933 in Hull General Cemetery, Spring Bank West, Hull in Comp 159 Grave 27000. Included in images is the location in the cemetery were she is buried with her husband Charles Clark James. There is no headstone identifying the exact location as the cemetery is overgrown and more like a nature reserve. [12][13]
