Sydney Charles Tilley was born in 1882 in Strood, Kent[1][2]. He was the son of Albert Samuel Tilley and Emma Toates[3].
In 1903 he married Mabel Mary King in Orsett, Essex,[4] and they had 4 sons.
He died aged 62 in Greenhithe, Kent, in 1945[5][6] and was buried in Swanscombe, Kent[7].
