DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
Merge is complete--probably should work on merging the duplicates of the children....
That page is already loaded as a photo to all the family I've worked on so far. I'm so deep into another family right now that it'd take a while to get my brain wrapped back up into this branch's notes and see where each James belongs--so many projects/so little time!
Many of the profiles here may already have an 1880 census photo/data attached --just watch the names if/when you create new profiles from that and make sure they don't already exist.
I'll eventually get back up this branch and join you in all the great work your doing!
Tilton-1007 and Tilton-609 appear to represent the same person because: Hi Nick!
Please merge these James Tiltons.
I am still working on The History of Ogle County,1878, - nearly finishing the profiles that have biography enough to use them for genealogical purposes. I'm going to move on to the 1880 Census for Ogle County, next. On page 857, it's interesting to see this James Tilton, Farmer; on Sec. 26, with wife Josephine Eakle and their four children. The next two people listed in Pine Rock Township are both named James Tilton, as well. The first is Tilton, James M., Sr., farmer; Sec. 35; P. O. Chana. The second is Tilton, James, farmer; Sec. 34; P. O. Chana. Do you have any clue as to who the various James Tiltons are? There are actually fourteen [14] Tiltons, + children & spouses, listed on that one page!!! Most of these Tiltons are farmers. Lemuel is a hotel proprietor.
