Rachel was born in 1828. She was the daughter of Washington Tuck and Rachel Whittington.
She married Abraham Claude in 1850. Their children had 12 children including Anne (Claude) Howard (1857-1936).[1]
She died in Annapolis MD 8 April 1904. [2]

The funeral of Mrs. Rachel A. Claude will take place from St. Anne's Church, Annapolis, at 11 o'clock Monday morning, Rev. Joseph P. McComas officiating. The pallbearers will be Messrs. P. II. Tuck, Howard McCormack, A. Claude Howard, J. Guy Thompson and Harry T. Lavely and Midshipman Douglas L. Howard, United States Navy. Mrs. Claude was the. widow of Dr. Abram Claude. She was a sister of Dr. Washing ton G. Tuck, postmaster of Annapolis. She Is survived by one sister, Mrs. Otto Fuchs, of Baltimore, and nine children, Four sons, now living In Annapolis, are Drs. W. Clement Claude and Gordon H. Claude and Messrs. Dennis and William Hallam Claude. The daughters are Mrs. Thomas Benton Howard, . Mrs. Frank H. Stockett, Mrs. George R. Savage and Misses L. C. B. and Isabella Howard Claude.
