Biography

Ethel Agnes Tucker was born on August 13, 1903 in Kanawha County, West Virginia to Ernest and Nettie Sweeney Tucker. She was the eldest of six known children born to the couple.

Ethel was raised initially in Hugheston, West Virginia but by 1910, the family had moved to Roe, West Virginia. Ethel's mother died in 1913 when she was 9 years old.

Ethel's father remarried in 1915 and the family returned to Hugheston before moving to Cabin Creek, West Virginia by 1920.

On July 11, 1921 Ethel married Howard Robinson in Charleston, West Virginia. The couple settled in Cabin Creek, West Virginia. They had eight children, one dying at a young age from diphtheria. She also gave birth to two sets of twins (Harold and Harley, and Faye and Maye).

At some point later in life, Ethel moved to Tad, West Virginia.

On May 8, 1980, Ethel died in Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, West Virginia after a short illness. She was 76 years old. She is buried in Montgomery Memorial Park in London, West Virginia.
