Biography

Nancy J. Twiggs wed J. L. Chastine April 27, 1887 in Monroe County, Tennessee.^[1]

Nancy J Chastain was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Brasstown, Cherokee County, North Carolina for the April 18, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1866 in Georgia and had been married twenty-three years. She was the mother of eight children of which all were still living as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head John L Chastain, son Hushel L Chastain, son David L Chastain, daughter Ollie E Chastain, daughter Lillie M Chastain, son George F Chastain and daughter Mertile A Chastain.^[2]

Nancy Jane Twiggs Chastain is buried at New Martins Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy, Cherokee County, North Carolina.^[3]
