Biography

Józef Ignacy Tyszkiewicz of the Leliwa coat of arms (born 1724 in Kosin, died December 22, 1815) - Polish count, starosta of Wielatice, colonel of the Lithuanian National Cavalry.

Lord of Kosin in Borysów district, Dubinki, Woźhin and from 1811 in Birża.

Decorated with the Order of St. Stanisław in 1789 and the Order of the White Eagle in 1792.

Son of Michał Jan (d. 1762), standard-bearer of the Lithuanian and Polish Usar rota and staroste of Strzelków. Mother Regina Larska died in 1739. Siblings of Józef Ignacy: Felicjan (1719-1792), major general of the Polish army; Nicholas (1719-1796), canon of Vilnius; Antoni Kazimierz (1723-1778), lieutenant general of the Lithuanian army.

The progenitor of the Birża branch of the Ordinary branch of the 2nd line (Wielatica) of the Tyszkiewicz family. He married Maria Anna née Galińska. Four children were born from the marriage: Jadwiga (1770-1864), Klotylda, Józefa and son Michał (1761-1839).
