Biography

Ann Truedan was born about 1805 in Ireland. Her parents have not been identified.

Ann and her husband-to-be both arrived in America in 1825 and married soon thereafter. All their children were born in the United States. They were named _______(f), John, Mary Ann, Ellen, Sarah, Jennie and Queen. The first fifteen years of married life were spent in New York, the place that they initially arrived at from Ireland. They eventually made their way into the heartland of the country and built a mill on McDade Springs near Cuba, Missouri.

She died 1860-1870 in Crawford County, Missouri.

Notes

Last name is Truedan, Truden, Trudden or something like that.

New York passenger list, --Ann Truden, ship Carolina Ann, arrival, June 20, 1825, occupation weaver, age 27, place of origin Trouland, departure Belfast, came with Patrick Truden, 25; also listed as Ann Treedan in another index.

Early New York naturalizations, marine court-Patrick Truden, gardner, subject of G.B., rec. by William Wesland, porter house keeper--May 20, 1831.

Rhode Island deaths, Sarah Truden, 17 Dec 1894, age 29(b. 1865) , kin Patrick and Mary Truden.

Her name was given as Sarah Truedan by her grandson on his Dawes application. Called Ann C. on census records and the Ann Truden that came into NY is likely her. Exploration on the name in Ireland comes up with several spellings with Trudden being more common that Truedan or Truden. Her great-granddaughter reported that the McDades came from Dublin.
