Probably born circa 1761 possibly Amelia, Virginia.
My information is that Jeremiah was literally gone from Amelia for 46 months from Aug 28 1777 to approximately July 1 1781 during the war as sworn to by his sister Sarah and friend Randolph Vaughan c1820 in Union Co SC. The question is was he married to Nancy and was his apparent oldest son John conceived before his service as his later age indicates, and was Nancy his mother. It is my belief that Nancy was alive in Tennssee at c59 years old in 1818. She is apparently the mother of son Richard born in 1784 who names his first daughter Nancy C. Bentley. It is also worth noting that the Bentleys lived next to the Connallys there in Nottoway Parish, Amelia Co and this could well be her last name.
