Born and baptised on September 26, 1698 in Maastricht, Condominium of the Dutch Republic and the Prince-Bishopric of Liège (now Limburg, Netherlands) to parents, Matthia van Eÿsden and Maria Nolet. ^[1][2][3][4]. His godparents were listed as Arnold Alexander and Agnes Meijers/Meyers.

Family

Permission for marriage was obtained on May 26, 1724 in Maastricht. ^[5] Married Maria Elisabeth La Haije on June 11, 1724 in Maastricht at 25 years old. ^[6][4] The wedding was witnessed by Joanna In De Bosch, Peter Thijssen, Elisabetha Opsomer, and Cornelia Willemse.

Research Notes

• Online family trees repeatedly attribute Arnold's son Mattaeus to be the Cape Colony soldier and immigrant Matthias van Eyssen "from Aldenburg". This is still being researched.
• The Stamboom van Eijseden Family Tree mentions the name Arnoldus Mattheuszn.
• Still need to search for catholic marriage record (religious marriage) which will have other information
• The following additional children are often mentioned in online family trees of Arnoldus, but adequate sources are yet to be found.
