Biography

Angharad was a daughter of Owain and an unnamed mistress. [1]

Angharad married Gruffydd Maelor [I] ap Madog Prince of Fadog [Northern Powys], son of Madog ap Maredudd Prince of Powys & his wife Susanna of Gwynedd (-1191). [1]

Research Notes

A DBE suggestion is that Owain's wife "Cristin verch Goronwy" is her mother.[2] She is not. See Christina ferch Gronw. Note that as of 20 April 2022, the profile shows her birth as c1120 and marriage c1145, but the marriage date is not compatible at this time with dates on profiles known to be her sons (currently 1135 [Rhodi] and 1136 [Dafydd]).

Owain-107 and Gwynedd-25 appear to represent the same person because: Same given name and parents - do these represent the same woman?

Merge completed and LNAB corrected to proper Welsh patronymic. Still need research to see if anything more can be learned about Angharad!

#MedLands shows that Angharad’s mother was an unnamed mistress of Owain ap Gruffydd, not one of his wives.

Removed http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ap_MADOG-6 as son - he was her grandson.
