PARTITION OF THE SUCCESSION OF LOUIS WAGUESPACK: No. 1201, 1-8-1794[1]
Marguerite (Madelaine) Visi (Edelmeier), widow Louis Waguespack, desiring to render an account of the succession of her deceased husband to her children, namely: Louis, André, Catherine and Madelaine (all adults), petitioned Masicot to set a date for partition.
Partition, January 12, 1794. At 8:00 a.m. there appeared before Masicot the following persona: Louis and André Waguespack; Catherine and Madelaine Waguespack, represented by their husbands Jean-Baptiste and André Champagne. Also present was Marguerite Visi (Edelmeier), Widow Louis Waguespack. Done in the presence of Louis Bouteiller and Louis Loisel. Antoine St.-Amand acts for Madame Waguespack and Paul Toups for the Waguespack heirs. (Note: In Item 3 of the deductions, it is stated that Marguerite Visi is the daughter of Jean Edelmeier). A sum of 8 piastres was owed to the succession of André Bernard. Marguerite Visi received one-half of the estate or 583 piastres. The heirs divided the other half. These heirs were: Jean-Louis, André, Joseph, Catherine, Madelaine, Marguerite and Mariane.
"RECEIPT. Joseph Albert Schexnayder, acting on behalf of his wife, Marguerite (Louis) Waguespack, declared, in the presence of Paul Toups and Louis Malliard, that he received from Madelaine Visi Edelmeier the sum of 140 piastres due his wife from the estate of her father.
