Eleanor Lowther was betrothed to Christopher's brother George, but with George's untimely death in 1651, it fell to Christopher to marry her. Thus he would become one of the antecedents to Queen Elizabeth 2, via the Queen Mother.
In 1660 granted a curious indulgence that he might eat meat and not fish during Lent, because eating fish was observed to be detrimental to his health. Possibly a clue to to the consistently short lifespans of the Wandesford men???
Received the Baronetcy in 1662 from Charles II following the Restoration. The Wandesford History says he was MP for Ripon in 1679 and 1681, however the HoP reference suggests it was his son. Died at London, buried at Kirklington.
