Biography

On 20 Oct 1850, A. Jim Ward was born in Conecuh, Alabama, USA to a father named Evander Ward and a mother named Sarah Hoen. [1]

On 7 Jun 1860 at the time of the 1860 US Census, head of household Evander Ward (age 35, born in AL) was employed as a Farmer and living on real estate valued at $700 in Conecuh, Alabama with his wife Sarah Ward (age 30, born in AL), their son James Ward (age 8, born in AL), son Stephen Ward (age 6, born in AL), daughter Catharine Ward (age 4, born in AL), son Henry Ward (age 2, born in AL), and daughter Sorretta Ward (age 1, born in AL). [2]

In August 1870 at the time of the 1870 US Census, head of household Sarah Ward (age 38, born in AL)--who could not read nor write--was living on real estate valued at $125 in Conecuh, Alabama with son James A. Ward (age 19, born in AL), son Stephen Ward (age 17, born in AL), daughter Martha C. Ward (age 15, born in AL), son Henry Ward (age 13, born in AL), daughter Elizabeth Ward (age 11, born in AL), son John Ward (age 9, born in AL), son William Ward (age 7, born in AL), and son Abel T. Ward (age 5, born in AL). [3]

Death and Legacy

On 21 Nov 1935, A. Jim Ward died in Evergreen Conecuh, Alabama, USA at 85 years, 1 month and 1 day of age. Jim was widowed; his spouse's name had been Eliza Ward. Jim was buried at Garland Cemetery. [4]
