Heman Ward was born in New York.
Heman was born in 1810 in Manlius, Onondaga, New York. He was the son of William Ward and Luthera Cobb. He married first Catherine Hoffman in 1837, who died in 1845. The couple had children: Cornelia (1841-); Harvey C. (1843-1866). Heman married second Jane Webster in 1846 and the couple had one child Henrietta Hudson Ward (1853–). He passed away in 1854.
