In 1860, John C Loggin, a 60 year old farmer b. South Carolina, owned real estate worth $1000 and personal property worth $716. He lived with his wife Margaret, 53 b. Tennessee, and two sons b. Alabama: Martin, 20; and Steven, 13.[3]
