In his history, Lucius Weaver concludes that John must have been born before 1690 because he was admitted freeman of Newport in 1713 and of the colony in 1714, and freemen had to be at least 21 years of age.
He was probably born in Newport.
After Alice died, John married Avis Coggeshall of Middletown (Middletown, 10 May 1750), and she outlived him. Other details of her life are unclear.
John passed away on 31 July 1754 at Cranston. He died intestate, and administration of his estate was granted to his son Elisha Weaver of Cranston, with John Weaver of Westerly(?) and Jonathan Weaver of Cranston as sureties.[2]
