Biography
James West was born in Yorkshire, England.
At the time of the 1841 census James worked for the Milner family in Stockton on the Forest, Yorkshire.[3]
In 1846 he married Jane Stothard at the Wesleyan chapel on Grosvenor Street, Chorlton upon Medlock, Lancashire.[4][5][6] In 1861 the couple lived in Chorlton with their daughter, Margaret, and Jane's mother, Jane. James worked as a porter.[7]
He died in 1870 at the age of 57.[8]
