Emma was born in 1842 [1] at Crankie's Plain
Parents John Whitby and Mary Baker
She was christened on 12 Aug 1844[2]
She passed away in 1914 [3]at South Pambula and is buried at Bombala Cemetery.

In 1859 she married William Dowling[4]

Mrs. W. Dowling, senr, died at her daughter's residence at South Pambula last week. She was 72 years of age and was the second youngest child of the late John Whitby, of Monaro, and was born at Crankie's Plain. Published in Bombala Times Friday 27 March 1914 [6]
