Eliza (Whitby) Copland was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Eliza was born in Eden, New South Wales in 1865. She was the daughter of John Whitby (abt.1803-1885) and Mary (Baker) Whitby (1819-1895)^[1].

Eliza was a partner to George Sherwin (1856-1931) but never married. Together they had one child:

1. Mary Agnes (Whitby) Milliner (1883-1940)

Eliza married James John Atkins (1864-1899) in 1889 at Candelo, New South Wales^[2]. Together they had the following children:

1. Alice Ada Alma Atkins (1890-)
