He was listed as son to Allen White in the 1 Jun 1880 Federal census for Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

He married F. Edna Hinchmann on 27 July 1895 at 4th District Court, St. Louis, Missouri. This person is probably the same Fannie E. Hinchman, teacher, listed in the 1890 St. Louis Street Directory living on 3507 Lindell Ave. On his marriage application and license, W. Clifton White writes that he is from Pensacola, Florida. His brother, Henry Somerset White, is living there at the time. It is not known whether this marriage ended in divorce or death before 1900.

He appeared on the census of 1900 at 1316 Olive St., St. Louis, Missouri; he is listed as roomer at location on Olive St. His marital status is described as Single.
