I never heard Grandma Smiths( Opal Early) mothers first name, but I had heard that she was crippled and mostly blind. She told people that she was going to fake her death, to see how fast that they bury her. Grandma Smith, swore to people that she saw Dolores wink at her, during the funeral. She was so upset, that 3 days later, they dug Dolores up and discovered that she had turned over in her casket. My mother was skeptical when she related the story to me, she thinks that is was all just grandma Smiths Imagination
She was milking a cow-the cow jumped, knocking her down and breaking her hip .She was in a wheelchair the last 16 years of her life.
Delores was originally in love with a man named Frank, but he was killed in the Civil War, so she married David Pickle Seymore.
