Mrs. Walter Miles, a resident of the Saratoga Township community, passed away early Saturday morning following an illness of several months. On Jan. 11 she suffered a sever stroke and all the tender care that the loving hands of her family could tender her was of no avail. The last two weeks were ones of discomfort and suffering and on Monday she passed into a coma never to awaken. On Saturday, July 15, at 2:05 a.m. God's hand touched her and took her Home.

In early life Mrs. Miles united with the Methodist Church at Sparland and she was ever a faithful adherent to its teaching; charitable in word and deed. To her children she was ever a Christian mother in every sense of the word. She was most happy when she was with her family and grandchildren and they all will cherish her memory and think of her as their guiding star. Lindbloom sang the sacred selections, "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere".
