Biography

James A7 Whittington (Cornelius6, John5, John4, Smart3, William II2, William I1) was born in South Carolina Abt 1775. James died 1838 in Amite Co, MS, at 63 years of age.

He married Sarah Jackson in Georgia, 1796. Sarah was born in Georgia 1779. Sarah was the daughter of Isaac Jackson and Ann Richardson. Sarah died August 1855 at 76 years of age.

James A Whittington and Sarah Jackson had the following children:

1. Amelia R.8 Whittington. She married Jordan Whittington in Amite Co, MS, 11/23/1848. Jordan was born 1820. Jordan was the son of Richard Whittington and Mary Louisa Whittington. (See Jordan Whittington for the continuation of this line.)

8. Cornelius Whittington was born ca. 1801. He married Ailsey Dunn in Amite Co, MS, 12/15/1828.
9. Milton Whittington was born Abt 1802.
10. Jackson Whittington was born ca. 1804. He married Susanna Montgomery in Amite Co, MS, 11/29/1827.

12. "Elam" Wm Ephraim Whittington was born 7/15/1814.
13. Arthur R. Whittington was born 10/15/1818. Arthur died 5/20/1906 at 87 years of age.
14. Mary M Whittington was born 4/8/1821. Mary died 7/18/1904 at 83 years of age. She married Elihu W Parker in Amite Co, MS, 1/9/1840.
