Elizabeth Weeks was born about 1828 in St Gluvias, Cornwall, England, the daughter of Joseph Weeks and Ann (Martin) Weeks. Elizabeth was baptised on 8 February 1828 at St Gluvias, Cornwall, England.[1][2]
In 1848 the family decided to immigrate to Australia under the government sponsored assisted migration scheme. On 16 December, 1848 they boarded the ship Pakenham at Plymouth and, after a journey which lasted over 3 months, they arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia on 23 March 1849. Included in the passenger list of 277 immigrants were Joseph Penhallwick (sic) and wife, Joseph, Nanny and Elizabeth Weeks along with John Martin and wife (Nanny Weeks).[3][4]
On 16 August 1851, Elizabeth married Edwin Skinner at Kooringa, South Australia, Australia.[5] On 25 May 1876 Elizabeth's husband Edwin died at Blackwood, Ballarat, Colony of Victoria, Australia.[6]
In 1883, Elizabeth Skinner married Richard Pote in the Colony of Victoria, Australia.[7]
Elizabeth (Weeks) Pote died on 9 November 1884 in Blackwood[8][9] and was buried on 11 November 1884 at the Blackwood Cemetery, Blackwood, Colony of Victoria, Australia.[10][11]
