Children: Crelis (March 13 1727), Crelis (Jan 23 1729, died May 9 1746), Willem (April 16 1730, married Geert Dircks Best), Vreek (Sept 20 1733), Vreek (Oct 31 1734), Grietje (April 22 1736, married Dirck Gerritsz Spijker), Vreek (July 21 1737), Trijntje (Aug 31 1738 - June 7 1739), (a child that died that day, Nov 22 1739), Trijntje (Jan 1, died Jan 12 1741), Nanne (Sept 9 1742), Geertje (married Jacob Mantel & Jan Teunisz de Wild), Maartje (married Jacob Claasz Cooyman),
Willem took the job of his father and grandfather as the head teacher of the Andijk Buurtjeskerk school. He also had the title Mr. (Meester, apparently a title every teacher had).
In his death record, Willem Willemsz de Oude (the old) is buried by Willem Willemsz de Jonge (the young). In the death records of some of his children he was called Meester Willem Willemsz (Postumus). Willem very likely didn't want to use the last name of Posthumius in his adulthood, but probably felt as if he had to in order to distinguish his family with a last name. The name itself is something that normally would have lasted only for a generation or two since it means, "born after daddy died".
