From Our Kin by Laban Miles Hoffman, published 1915, page 480
Eve Lineberger with her husband Fredk. Lineberger, lived on the ancestral home of the family founded by Capt. Lewis Lineberger about a mile east of the South Fork of the Catawba River near the public road leading form Dallas to Stanley. They were prominent well-to-do citizens of blameless Christian character. They were leading members of Philadelphia E. L. Church. The old home after being occupied by four or five generations of Linebergers still stands but is vacant and fast falling into decay. The places that gave us birth and nourishment will soon know us no more and in then a little later the places themselves will be forgotten.
