Sarah Eliza was born in Newgate Prison, England.[1] Her father is unknown. Although baptised as "Sarah Eliza Staples", she was known as "Sarah Eliza Wilnden" in the colony of New South Wales.
"Eliza Sarah", daughter of "John & Amy Staples, abode Charles Street", was baptised on 6 June 1802, registered at St Andrew, Holborn, London, England.[2] Her mother Amy Staples was transported as a convict on the "Glatton", bringing the baby with her, arriving in Sydney on 11 March 1803.[3]
Marriage: "Sarah Eliza Wilnden" and William Morris were married on 28 June 1819 at at St Philips Church of England, Sydney. The register noted that William was 22, a baker, bachelor, and Sarah Eliza was age 20, a spinster.[4]
Children of William and Sarah:
In the 1825 muster, William was listed as a shopkeeper, King Street Sydney, with wife Sarah and son James age 4, all born in the colony.
In the 1828 census, William age 31, Sarah age 26 and children James age 7, and Thomas age 2 were listed at King Street, Sydney and William was a baker. They were Protestant and all born in the colony.[5] Sarah's mother Amy Lees, aged 56, Free by servitude (?), per ship Glatton 1803, was with them: she was listed as a servant to William Morris, King St., Sydney.
Death: Sarah Eliza Morris died on 4 July 1869 at Wilson's buildings, Castlereagh-street, Sydney. Her death certificate has the information that her age was 68, cause of death was Apoplexy 5 days duration, name of father not clear (Wilden or Wilson?), born in London, in colony 67 years, married in Sydney to William Morris, children of marriage: 3 boys, 2 girls living, 1 girl dead, Burial 7 July. The informant was William John [ ] son [ ].[6] [7][8][9] She was buried in Rookwood Cemetery.[10] [7]
Children in death certificates: Sarah's death certificate of 1869 has 3 boys, 2 girls living, 1 girl dead. The boys living would be Thomas and William and James who died 2 weeks after her death. The two girls living would be Eliza and Hannah (Hannah according to an Ancestry tree was married to George Adams at Hartley in 1866 and she died in 1929 - to confirm). The deceased girl would be Elizabeth Jane who died in 1850. That means that there are 3 children that the informant, her son William John, was not aware of, probably because they died early (Sarah, George and Jane)
William's death certificate of 1872 has 2 males and 1 female living, and 1 male deceased (son James who had died by then). If she was living away from Sydney, perhaps the informant (a friend) was not aware that Hannah was still alive?
Incorrect entries for her children in (NSW Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages : accessed 16 Jul 2022), The index has the mother's name "SARAH [HAWKINS]". These birth records have been checked, and there is no mention of "Hawkins" in the records.

I looked at all the birth registrations for the children, and there is a mistake in the index. The Eliza listed as born in 1849 is actually the same Eliza who was born in 1829. The online index has the year 1849, but the entry in the Vol 1C (Kerrison James Index) is actually for 1829 NOT 1849, and refers to the same church register entry for Eliza 392 1829 in Vol 13 (ie Eliza, twin of George). None of the children's birth registrations have the name "Hawkins" for the mother, so the index was also incorrect in that respect, too.
