Biography

William John Wilson was born in 1858[1] probably at the family farm at Tamlaght, Rasharkin, County Antrim, Ireland. He was the son of John Wilson and Nancy Stewart.

In the 1901 Ireland census, William John Wilson was age 41, living at Tamlaght, Rasharkin, County Antrim with his widowed father John Wilson (74), a farmer, and siblings James Wilson (28), M Jane Wilson (30), Nannie Wilson (28) and Maggie Wilson (26).[2]

William John Wilson of Tamlaght, Rasharkin married Maggie Gordon of Fernagh, Rasharkin on 23 November 1906 at Rasharkin, County Antrim, Ireland.[3] The witnesses were William John's sister Agnes Wilson and his cousin William Killough.

William John and Maggie Wilson do not appear to have had any children.

William John Wilson's father John Wilson died in 1908 at Tamlaght, Rasharkin, County Antrim. William John registered his death.

In the 1911 Ireland census, William John Wilson was age 54 (sic), a farmer living at Tamlaght, Rasharkin, County Antrim with his wife Maggie Wilson (37). Also Thomas Kirkwood (13), farm servant.[4]

William John's wife Maggie Wilson died in 1921.

William John Wilson died age 86 on 10 July 1945 in the Ballymena district, County Antrim.[5] He was buried in the family grave of his father John Wilson at Rasharkin Presbyterian Church.[6]
