Biography

Melinda Wilton was born in 1891 103 Harbottle St, Byker and passed away suddenly, of known heart disease, in 1929, the same day 7 November that her first husband had in 1915. She was 4ft 111/2" tall, with dark hair, and dark blue eyes inherited from her father and passed on to her daughter Nora and grandson Richard. She was good at sewing, and was working as a tailoress in the 1911 census. After her first husband died she supported her family from the rental income from one house, while living in another, both bought by her father-in-law, and working as a seamstress and dressmaker. She was a very good pianist, violinist and cook.
