Biography
The daughter of Miles Winchell and Lucy (Hollister) Winchell, Eliza was born in New Britain in 1812.[1] She married Isaac L. Sanford (1806-aft 1870), marrying in Hebron, Connecticut on December 25, 1838.[2] Their children included:
- Eugene Sanford (1840-1867)
- Josephine Sanford (1844-)
- Arabella Sanford (1846-1852)
- Jane Sanford (1850-1850)
- Eveline Sanford (1853-)
They migrated south to Kentucky, setting in Paris, in Bourbon County, where in 1860, both Isaac and their oldest son, Eugene, worked as wool carders.[3] Isaac kept that job through 1870.[4]
She passed away in 1881.[citation needed]
