Annie Celestia Winstead Glover, 91, of Raleigh formerly of Dunn, passed away February 15, 2010, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Raleigh. She was one of 12 children of Nash Lea Winstead and Mae Elizabeth Featherston of Leasburg. She was married to the late Elbert E Glover of Dunn for 49 years. She is survived by their 4 children: Kenneth Glover and wife Lucinda, of Raleigh; Dwanda Wright and husband Joe, of Houston, TX; Calvin Glover of Pensacola, FL; Kim West and husband Bill of Reno, NV; 11 grandchildren: Sarah Glover, Craig Glover, Helen Moses, Joey Wright, Christina Marconi, Charlie Glover, Angela West, Jon Wright, Erin Andler, Josh West, Jessica West; and 13 great-grandchildren. Annie is also survived by two sisters, Lizzie Dawson of Dunn and Jean Davis of Leasburg; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Winstead of Rougement and Gerry Winstead of Raleigh; and numerous nieces and nephews. At age 56 Annie entered nurse’s training. After acquiring her LPN degree, she worked at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. Her participation in Spring Branch and Creedmoor Road Baptist Churches was a significant part of her life. Family members and friends enriched her life; in turn, she enriched theirs with her happy and positive personality. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home, Dunn, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 11:00 am, at Spring Branch Baptist Church, Dunn, with interment in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Spring Branch Baptist Church, 2391 N. Spring Branch Rd. Dunn, NC 28334 or Creedmoor Road Baptist Church,6001 Creedmoor Road Raleigh, NC 27612-2208 or to any local Hospice organization. [4]
