Asa was born about 1827 in Tennessee. He is the son of Jesse Womack and Sabra Perkins. He passed away about 1864 in Marshall County, Alabama. Exact date and place of death have not been identified. It is possible that he died in the Civil War. He did serve in the 4th Regiment, Alabama Cavalry, CSA and the date of death could indicate death as a result of combat. Needs to be researched further.
Asa enlisted as a Private in Company G, 4th Regiment, Alabama Cavalry, CSA.[5]
