Biography

Mary was born in 1866^[1] in Greenoak, Yorkshire, England, and was baptised nearby in Eastrington. She was the daughter of Robert Wood and Charlotte Thompson and lived in Greenoak with her parents in 1871.^[2] Her father died in 1872 at the age of 47.^[3]

In 1891 Mary lived in Hull, Yorkshire, with her brother John Thomas and her mother. She worked as a domestic servant.^[4]

Mary married Charles William Drake in 1897.^[5] In 1901 the couple lived in Hull with Mary's mother.^[6][7]
