Henry Daniel Woodward was born on 3 May 1887 in Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Henry Daniel Woodward and Julia Needs.^[1]

His siblings were:

Henry married the widowed Jessie Nicholson née Southan on the 23rd December 1919, the event being registered early in 1920, at Kempsey.^[2] Jessie brought with her a daughter: Emilie Betty "Betty" Nicholson (1914-2005 (Morris)). Henry and Jessie then had five children together, three daughters, and two sons:

Henry Daniel Woodward passed away on 9 July 1968 in Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia,^[3] after a long illness, and was buried in the Kempsey East Cemetery, Kempsey.^[4]

Research Notes

Henry Dearborn, Army Commander, and veteran of the American Revolutionary War is Henry's 4th cousin 5times removed, according to Ancestry.com. Descendants of William John Sanborn/Samborne. Apparently, through research of The American Genealogist book, it has been discovered that the father of William and John Sanborn/Samborne is Richard Samborne. Interesting, I have been looking into it and going through the members of this family- they appear to marry up. The family tree pertaining to my grandfather- Henry Daniel Woodward hasn't changed, all siblings and spouses remain the same, just the name of the father has changed. A blunder perhaps with some information, when sourced earlier on. FS has made mention of this. This mentions the name of William John/John William Sanborn/Samborne as the father of John Sanborn/Samborne and William Sanborn/Samborne.

Have further discovered that Henry is related to Samuel Adams, a Revolutionary Patriot who signed the Declaration of Independence. He is Henry's 3rd cousin 6 times removed, from the Family Story Page on Ancestry.com. Both descendants of John Thurston, born 1601.
