By June 6th 1841, the family was living in Crow Lane, Winwick.

Their daughter Ellen Woodier was born in 1845 in Ditton; her birth was registered in the second quarter of 1845, in Warrington district. She was christened on 13 Jul 1845 in Newton in Makerfield.[9]

Research Notes

William's birthplace was recorded in the 1851 census as Eccleston. Since Pendleton is in Eccles, it seems likely he said Eccles and it was misheard as Eccleston by whoever completed the form.
Marriage to two Harrisons: if his second wife was actually a spinster rather than a widow, and if her father was a labourer not a shoemaker, and the birthplace of both his wives was actually Burtonwood rather than Ashton and Newton (rather unlikely with so many differences, but perhaps not completely beyond the bounds of possibility), then his two wives could have been sisters, and the daughters of William and Alice Harrison of Burtonwood - Ellen christened on 29 May 1808, and Elizabeth on 4 May 1806.[10]
