John William Yates was born on 20 January 1911, in Wentworth, New South Wales, Australia.[1] His father, William Yates, was 24 and his mother, Mary Bonser, was 29.
John married Narrene Esme Walker on 14 January 1942 in the Congregational Church, Dalwallinu, Western Australia.[2] They had 3 children together.
In 1949 John and Narrene lived in Queens Park, Western Australia where he worked as a labourer.[3]
Between 1977 and 1980 John and Narrene lived in Carlisle, Western Australia where he worked as a storeman.
John died on 1 September 1981, in Nedlands, Western Australia at the age of 70.[4]
