The 1820 census is currently speculation due to it listing three males between birth and sixteen and four females between birth and sixteen. Based on known records, these could not have been his children, but further research is needed to verify.
While there are at least two James York's in the 1830 census for NC (one in Guilford County and one in Craven County) there is no way to currently verify if they match this James York.
He is not listed with his wife and children in the 1870 census. As such, his death date was adjusted to before 1870.
James Louis York is currently the earliest verifiable York Ancestor in this family branch. The listed ancestors for him are based on speculation and will need further research.
