Biography

Mary Ann (Young) Carlton was born about 12 Sep 1834 in Benton Township, Monroe County, Indiana, United States, daughter of David Young (~1809 - 1871) and Lucrecia (Richardson) Young (~1811 - 1882).

Mary (~18) married Leander Pinkney Carlton (~22)(1830 - >1914) on 11 Oct 1852 in Monroe County. Their daughter was Sarah Ann (Carlton) Spurgeon (1854 - 1942).

1850 Census has her living in Indiana, Monroe, Benton with both parents, David Young (abt.1809-1871) and Lucrecia (Richardson) Young (abt.1811-1882). Her father is listed as a Farmer. Her siblings are listed as:
