Biography

Rachel Young was born on September 28, 1800 in Barton, Wentworth, Upper Canada. Her parents were Abraham Young and Eleanor Dennis. She married Henry Young, son of Daniel Young, in Haldimand, Upper Canada in 1818. They were first cousins once removed. Together they had 4 children:

1. Henry Young
2. Daniel Young
3. Hannah Young
4. Rachel Young

She died on September 23, 1848 in Haldimand, Canada West just five days short of her forty-eighth birthday:
A faithful friend, a companion dear
A tender mother lieth here;
Great is the loss that we sustain
But hope in heaven to meet again.^[1]
