The church records for Ehrhardt Jundt and his wife/children are found in Bad Niederbronn, Elsaß (now known by its partially Gallicized name, Niederbronn-les-Bains, Alsace). The earliest surviving records of which I am aware begin in 1658 and are accessible free of charge through Les Archives départementales du Bas-Rhin and the Family Search Catalog. Several years ago, I contributed to a FamilySearch indexing project for these records.

Many online family trees, including Ehrhardt's WikiTree profile, purport he was born in [spelling variations of] Donaueschingen (likely referring to a village about 150km to the southeast in the historically "Baden" portion of the modern German state of Baden-Württemberg), though I can find no evidence to support this. Some also purport his father was Joseph Yount (or Jundt) of Heiligenstein, Alsace, but likewise, I can find no evidence connecting the two. There were Jundt (or Junt) families represented in countless villages along the Rhein during this period. Military campaigns of the 30 Years War and rolling waves of plague certainly led to mass migration and resettlement of this region during Ehrhardt's lifetime. However, none of the identified records in Niederbronn explicitly suggest he was originally from outside the area.
