Biography

Anna Margaretha Zartman was born on 28 Oct 1755, in Warwick Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her father, Hans Jacob Zartman, was born on 22 Sep 1722 in Ittlingen, Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and he fought in the American Revolutionary War. Her mother, Anna Margaretha Riehm, was born in 1726, at Sunbury, Northumberland, Pennsylvania. They had 7 known children together: Henry, Martin, Jacob, Susanna, Anna Margaretha, Eva and Peter.

Anna Margaretha Zartman married Thomas Dobson (Sr.), of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Thomas Dobson fought in the American Revolutionary War as a Private in the Pennsylvania Line, in the 2nd Pennsylvania Regiment. He received an Ohio Land Patent for his military service.

Anna and Thomas had 5 known children together: Catharina, Hannah, Thomas, Annie and Adam.
