Dewa Fusakichi, later known as Dewa Shigetō, was born in Aizu-han, Mutsu-no-kuni on 17 January 1856. He was an admiral in the early days of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). He died in Tōkyō-fu on 27 January 1930.
