WikiTree Challenge 30: Daniel Loftus [closed]

Hi WikiTreers! 

The thirtieth week of the WikiTree Challenge is here. It features Daniel Loftus, of Daniel's Genealogy. Our challenge is to make his ancestry on WikiTree more accurate and complete than it is anywhere else. 

It may be too late to formally register for a June challenge team, but we need every WikiTreer's help to make this a success, so please join in. You can also register now for a July team.

This week will officially end at 8pm (EDT) on Wednesday, August 4th.

If you are registered, your name appears on this Google Docs spreadsheet. Please add the profile you are working on next to your name. When done, or taking a break, remove it and add Research Notes to the profile if you have any notes for the next person.

I added some research notes for some probable siblings of Anthony Carney. If these are proven correct, we will have confirmation of their mother's name. Circumstantial evidence is given based on Mary Carney's arrival address and contact who was living with an uncle Patrick Carney.

I added Mary Hughes as the wife of Bartholomew Carney and added the other children I found. I'm finding too many connections for this not to be the correct family.

Death entry of poterntial maternal grandfather Edmond Walsh on 15th October 1879 at Portnascully, married 61 years old farmer and miller informed by Richard Walsh who was present at death, Portnascully. in Irish Genealogy.ie

I have added Catherine Purcell as Daniel's matrilineal GGGGgrandmother. I'm not sure who should get the bounty points as this marriage had already been suggested in research notes for her granddaughter. No baptism record has been located for Margaret, but she was probably born about 1829, the year in which her father Pierse Quinlan married Catherine Purcell, presumably her mother, although there is a small chance that Catherine was a stepmother.

We almost broke another brick wall on this section of Daniel's family tree:

The [https://www.ainm.ie/Bio.aspx?ID=333 biography] of [[Fraher-35|Dónall Ó Fearachair]] states that Pilib Séimh Ó Fathaigh was his greatuncle.  Hence, the maiden name of either the mother of [[Fraher-38|Maurice Fraher]] or the mother of [[Hickey-3274|Catherine Hickey]] must have been Ní Fhathaigh (Fahy).
